Frequently Asked Questions

  • Who can access housing services?

Our housing programs are available to survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and abuse. All genders, backgrounds, and family types are welcome.

  • How long can I stay in shelter?

The target stay is 30 days, however, survivors stay a few days, others a few weeks, and some longer. Our advocates work with you to create a personalized plan for moving toward stable housing.

  • What is transitional housing?

Transitional housing provides a safe place to live for a longer period (usually 6-24 months) while you work toward stability, employment, or permanent housing. Case managers support you throughout your stay.

  • Is financial assistance available?

Yes. Financial assistance may be available for things like security deposits, first month’s rent, or utility setup, etc. depending on eligibility and funding sources available. Our housing team provides support, resources, and community referrals.

  • Are pets allowed in the shelter or housing programs?

We understand pets are family. Our team will work with you to explore safe options for your pets, whether that’s pet-friendly housing off site or partner programs that can care for pets while staying in our housing services.

  • Do I need to have children to qualify for housing support?

No. Services are available to individuals and families, with or without children.
