Emergency shelter provides a secure, welcoming, and confidential space for survivors of domestic and sexual violence to rest, recover, and access immediate support. With compassionate care and vital resources, we help individuals begin healing and take their first steps toward lasting safety and stability. We serve people of all identities (including adults and children of all genders) ensuring support for everyone who seeks refuge.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Who can stay in the emergency shelter?

    Our shelter is open to anyone experiencing domestic violence, sexual assault, or abuse who needs a safe place. All genders, ages, and family types are welcome.

  • How long can I stay in shelter?

    The target stay is 30 days, however, survivors stay a few days, others a few weeks, and some longer. Our advocates work with you to create a personalized plan for moving toward stable housing.

  • What should I bring with me if I come to shelter?

    If you’re able, bring along things like identification, medications, or other essentials for you and your children. But please don’t worry if you can’t, your safety is what matters most. Our team will support you in getting what you need, and we’ll make sure all basic needs like food, clothing, and daily essentials are provided.

  • What if I don’t have transportation to get there?

    If getting to shelter is difficult, call us. We’ll work with you to find a safe option.

  • Will people know where the shelter is located?

    No. The shelter’s location is kept confidential to protect your safety and the safety of others staying here.

  • What happens after I leave shelter?

    Leaving shelter doesn’t mean leaving support. We offer after care services up to 1 year after staying in our residential services and community connections to help you continue building stability.
